I like the idea of picking one streaming service and subscribing. If
you see something on another service, cancel the old service and
subscribe to the new one.

I have 4 or 5 services now, and we rarely have time to watch any of
them. Having one would solve that, and rotating them around would keep
them fresh in mind.

With a Roku, there are tons of ad-supported streaming services. If I
were on a budget, I'd get rid of any paid service and see what's on
Roku; I could probably spend a year sorting through the various free/inexpensive networks.

As part of my rent for living with family, I have to shoulder the cable and internet bill. And its
almost approaching 300 usd. But I get the ad supported Paramount/Hulu-Disney/Peacock/Fox. Netflix and
Apple TV are not included, but yes, I pay for those as well.

Trouble I find with most of the streaming platforms is that they're slowly dropping anything out of the ordinary and concentrating on what sells.

Netflix used to be okay for odd little things that no other broadcaster wanted to make, now it's just full of crime and stupid drama shows, cheaply made.

They've become the prolitariate novel writing machines from 1984!

And yes, each little one adds up, especially here in the U.K. with TV License too!

And yes, each little one adds up, especially here in the U.K. with TV License

Some channels are good over there, but I wish you could just choose what
you want to subsidize, such as if you think the tv channels are shite,
you could just pay for audio only.

Yeah that is another one that very certainly sank into the "reality" genre, and of the worst variety! :(

What are you seeing as an average cost if you total up all your streaming services?

I seen a video the other day that resonated pretty well with me. Just 10 years ago you could buy a TIVO and just record all your shows. One price, one place.

Just 10 years ago you could buy a
TIVO and just record all your
shows. One price, one place.

Not sure if Tivo is still around but there are multiple options for doing this still. There are still recording boxes, the option of putting a tuner card in a PC, and HDHomeRun has some kind of DVR service too.
