Is it just me, or is the ending to this one different than the pilot movie from the show?

You must've watched the theatrical version, which was a stand-alone movie. It also included scenes missing from the TV version. Conversely, the TV pilot has scenes the theatrical version doesn't. The pilot for Buck Rogers was treated the same way.

Aha! So I'm not crazy and Baltar doesn't become leader of the Cylons. I like that version of the story much better. Still like the show, though. I've just rewatched all but two eps which I will probably get to today.

Not sure if I posted this here yet.. in episode 6, some Cylons are walking around on their ship.. a couple of them go to pull some levers.. others are doing work.. then for a second it cuts to one Cylon standing around watching demos :D. I have a screenshot of it that makes me laugh but I'm on an Atari atm and don't have the pic url.

Ever see the crewman on the original Star Trek series turning an
imaginary wheel in the hallways of the enterprise as Kirk and Spock walk
    by?

Well, he never become Imperious Leader. He's merely granted a Basestar to hunt down the Galactica.

Demos? Do you know the episode title or briefly what it's about?

Here is the screenshot I grabbed.. https://i.imgur.com/6OT7uKY.jpeg

The site I was watching it on said it was ep 6 but another site shows ep 6 as something else.

Ah, according to Wikipedia, The Gun on Ice Planet Zero (part 1) is actually episode 8. As you can see in the screenshot, it's about 24 minutes in.

Yeah, that was a common display used involving Cylons. Since it was from '78, it might'ov been from an Apple ][.
