I'm going to the UK in a couple of months, and the state of power seems
to be changing for the better.
Last time I went to Europe/UK, I focused on trying to find switchable
power supplies (devices that could handle 110-240VAC) and using plug
adapters. It was all well and good until I plugged a hair dryer that I
thought was 110/240 into an Italian wall outlet and it briefly ran at
twice the speed/heat it should have. Surprisingly, it survives to this
day.
Doing some poking around on Amazon, I found an adapter that's a 2000w
step down device with 2 110VAC US plugs and a couple of USB ports on
it - very cool!
Most of what I'm going to bring is USB-chargeable this time around. It
should make things easier.
