    1.4GHz Pentium-based CPU in it. It was a horrible netbook for the time it wa made (2015) and I installed Arch Linux on it for grits and shiggles.

    I'm betting there's something actually faulty with it, if it's crashing on you like that. Possibly bad RAM or disk? I have systems with much worse specs running stuff like the Plasma KDE. Slow, but fine.

    I was thinking the same thing - a bad spot of RAM that gets hit when the memsize increases due to multiple apps in RAM?
