That sounds incorrect. Again I ask, what is your SBBSCTRL environment variable pointing to? It should be pointing to the *shared* ctrl directory, in which case the default for the data dir etc. (relative paths) would/should work as-is, no change needed. This sounds like you are *not* using the shared sbbs/ctrl directory betweeen the 2 instances of SBBS.

Nope didn't work. What I am confused about is installing windows to same folder. When I do that it messes up configuration. I have to read more.

No, don't install to the shared drive. Install to a local drive first, copy the .exe, com and .dll files to the shared sbbs/exec directory. And then you can manually delete the local Windows sbbs tree (if you want to, to avoid confusion) - don't "uninstall" it however, or you'll lose the sbbsexec.dll file from your Windows system32 directory and the virtuarl UART/FOSSIL driver won't work any more (if you care).

ok, it seems ok now . However, when I run check setup get this error:

!JavaScript Z:\exec\chksetup.js line 117: TypeError: system.check_realname is not a function

Any idea what would cause that error?

Your chksetup.js is newer than the version of Synchronet (for Windows) that you're running.

I've committed some work-arounds to chksetup.js in git to make it compatible with v3.20 (what you're likely running on Windows), but really, you should be running the same version of Synchronet on both systems or you (and your users) are likely to encounter more differences in behavior between them.
